Tax, Payroll & Benefits Administration
The Tax Department is responsible for the university’s compliance with federal and state reporting requirements and to protect the university’s tax-exempt status. Tax also provides guidance concerning tax withholding and reporting of payments made to international students, scholars and visitors to GW.
It is the mission of Payroll Services to pay all employees for time worked in an accurate and timely manner. Payroll Services manages the time reporting system and administers the SmarTrip and Pre-Tax Transportation programs.
Benefits Administration is responsible for administering the university's benefit programs, including health and welfare, retirement and tuition remission benefits. Benefits Administration also conducts employee benefit orientation, education, and enrollment of all programs for new employees to GW.
All three departments are committed to acting as a resource to the university community and providing exceptional customer service.
